La Cornue Induction Cooktop H Error Code

VERIFIED

Error code H
Appliance Induction Cooktop

What H tells you

H is not a fault. After a zone is switched off it keeps heat for a while, and the display shows H as long as the glass over that zone is above 140 °F (60 °C). Below that temperature the symbol goes out on its own.

The heat comes from the pan: an induction zone warms the base of the cookware, and the glass under it picks up that heat.

While H is showing

  • Do not touch the zone; it can still burn.
  • Do not set anything that is sensitive to heat on the glass over that zone.

Where the manuals list it

  • Château G4 induction hob module
  • Albertine 36 and CornuFé 44 induction ranges
  • The older La Cornue knob-controlled induction hob (2010 instructions)

The installer check list for the CornuFé 36 and 44 inch induction ranges also notes that H appears during the zone test once the glass gets hot.

Related codes

  • L is the other status letter: the controls are locked.
  • U appears when no suitable pan is detected.
  • E2 is a real overheating message for the electronic unit.
