The lock symbol
L in the centre of the cooktop display means the hob has been locked so that children cannot switch it on by accident. While it shows, the zones will not start. The lock can only be set when every zone is off.
On the Albertine 36 and CornuFé 44 induction ranges, locking the cooktop does not lock the oven, which can still be used. An A flashing while the lock is being set is normal.
Unlocking
Albertine 36 and CornuFé 44 induction ranges
- Turn the two left-hand cooktop knobs counter-clockwise at the same time.
- Hold them there until L disappears from the centre of the display.
Locking works the same way: hold both knobs counter-clockwise until L appears.
Older knob-controlled induction hob (2010)
- Turn the induction control knob counter-clockwise.
- Keep it there until the L symbol goes out.
On that hob, about 3 seconds counter-clockwise with all zones off sets the lock, and L then shows for both cooking areas.
The Château G4 guide lists L in its display table as well; the exact knob movement depends on the model, so follow the guide for your unit.
Related codes
- H is the residual heat warning that can show next to it after cooking.
- U means the zone did not find a suitable pan.
