Model overview

What the CornuFé 110 is

The CornuFé 110 is a 43 inch range in the CornuFé series, available as gas or induction. It is a current model and part of La Cornue ranges. The 110 is the width in centimetres. Our records list its induction version under the guide title CornuFé 44 Induction, so you may see that name on paperwork. Whether yours is gas or induction is the first thing to establish, because the two share a name and little else when something fails.

If yours is gas

Gas versions bring the familiar set of concerns: igniters that click too long, flames that look uneven, an oven that heats slowly or unevenly, a door that fits less snugly. The usual path runs from the burner cap to the igniter to the valve, and a technician follows it in order. Your gas supply, regulator setting and shut-off position all matter, especially if the range was installed in a house with a modified gas line.

If yours is induction

Induction ranges talk to you through the display, and the five messages on record for La Cornue induction are worth knowing: E2 reports an overheated electronic unit and may also appear if a pan boiled dry, while Er followed by a number is an internal fault you cannot clear yourself. The letter U means no pan, or one the zone cannot use, and clears with a suitable pan. See also E and U400. Write down the exact text and when it appeared. Our service page, La Cornue induction cooktop repair, covers the cooktop side, and the range itself falls under La Cornue range repair.

Electrical needs worth confirming

An induction range wants a dedicated circuit, and a gas range still needs power for ignition and the oven. In a San Francisco flat with an older panel, the breaker serving it may be shared or undersized for the original plan. We look at the supply during the visit, but you can help by telling us whether the kitchen was rewired during the remodel.

What you can safely try

  1. Check the breaker and, if gas, the shut-off valve handle.
  2. For induction, try a flat-bottomed pan that is suitable for induction, centered on the zone.
  3. Let a hot-running unit rest, then perform one controlled power reset.
  4. Photograph any message before it clears.

Gas smell: leave, no switches, call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Sparks or burning smell: breaker off.

Identifying yours

This is a different range from the CornuFé 90, which is narrower, and the four C9 gas ranges such as the C9NF belong to that smaller size. Look for the plate behind a lower drawer or on the frame behind the oven door, and send a photo with your request.
