Specialized La Cornue Appliance Repair in San Francisco
Mon–Sat: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
From Victorian flats on the hills to tower kitchens near the water, San Francisco packs very different homes into a small peninsula, and a French range has to be reached through each of them.
Tell us the appliance and what it is doing — we confirm a visit window for your San Francisco address before anyone comes out. Prefer to talk? Call us.
Our La Cornue visits cover the whole of San Francisco, from the Marina and Pacific Heights across to Glen Park and out to the avenues along the ocean. Each neighborhood below has its own page with ZIP codes, access notes and the kinds of kitchens we meet there.
Nineteen neighborhood pages sit underneath this one. If your street is between two of them, choose the nearer and mention the cross streets in your request.
Whatever the neighborhood, the same complaints come in again and again. Match yours to the list and mention it when you write.
Not every kitchen has all five. These are the ones that turn up most in San Francisco homes.
Free-standing and slide-in ranges, gas or dual fuel, sit in the grand flats of the northern neighborhoods and in remodeled houses on the west side. Typical calls involve burners that will not light, ovens that heat poorly, or a door that no longer closes cleanly.
Oven cavities in a French range depend on a working gas valve and flame safety, or on elements and a thermostat in electric versions. Uneven results and long preheats bring most requests.
A hood over a La Cornue range is part of the design. Weak draw, a rattling blower or lights that go out are the usual reasons to call, and the duct run in an older building often matters.
A La Cornue range is rarely an ordinary purchase. It is usually the centerpiece of a kitchen that was designed around it, with a matching hood overhead and custom cabinetry on either side. In a city where space is scarce, that often means a heavy appliance set into a narrow room on the upper floor of a building with a stair, a lift or a buzzer between the street and the kitchen.
That shapes how we plan. Before a visit we ask how the technician reaches the unit, whether the building sets hours for trades, and where a vehicle can stop. Fog, hills and tight curbs vary a great deal from one block to the next, so the answers differ for every address.
On site the order never changes. We listen to what the range is doing, find the full model and serial plate, diagnose, and only then put a written estimate in front of you. Nothing is repaired until you approve it.
La Cornue builds its ranges in small numbers and many parts belong to one series only, so the full model name and serial number let us arrive prepared. The plate is usually behind a lower door or drawer, on the frame behind the oven door, or under the front edge of the cooktop. A phone photo of it is the most useful thing you can send.
If you cannot find it, say what the range looks like and which series name you know. We can work out the rest at the visit.

Yes. The neighborhood pages below name the areas we visit most, and an address outside those names is still welcome. Send the street and we will confirm the visit.
Yes. Tell us how many flights there are and whether the stairs turn, so the technician brings only what the diagnosis needs and carries it up in one trip.
Leave the kitchen, do not touch light switches or the range, and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Book a visit only after the utility has made the home safe.
Yes. Many La Cornue ranges are installed that way. We ask for a photo of the surround first so we know how much room there is to reach the appliance.
